Tiana Kaye Johnson (Performer) is a native of Dallas, Texas where she is a member of Dallas Theater Center’s Brierley Resident Acting Company. She holds an M.F.A in Acting from Southern Methodist University (SMU) and a BA in Theatre from Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU). Her credits include: Dallas Theatre Center: Dreamgirls, The Mountaintop (Camae) and The Book Club Play (Lily). SMU: Look Homeward, Angel (Eliza Gant). PVAMU: Once on This Island (Madame Armand/Andrea/Storyteller), To Be Young Gifted and Black (Lorraine Hansberry), and Jelly’s Last Jam (Anita). While at PVAMU, she also directed Ntozake Shange’s Spell #7, and choreographed two New Faces productions (freshman recitals). As a teaching artist, Tiana has worked with numerous organizations such as Big Thought, Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Magnet Center, and Souther Methodist University, to help connect students across North Texas to the arts. She holds the 2015 title of Miss South Dallas and enjoys serving the community and inspiring social change through the arts.
