ABOUT SOULWORK STUDIO

SoulWork Studio (SWS) is the arts education school of Progress Theatre. SWS offers inclusive, culturally-responsive, social-conscious acting and performance training and builds skills for embodied scholarly research.

Developed by Progress Theatre founder Dr. Cristal Chanelle Truscott from generations-old African American performance traditions, SoulWork trains artists to engage the fullness of their identities to cultivate creative power through and inclusive, culturally-responsive, socially-conscious studio practice.

SoulWork Studio offers live training and engagement with the method from qualified practitioners; as well as opportunities for artists to connect and collaborate in a learning community that centers equity, inclusion, culture and social consciousness.
