Daniel Hanchett (Technical Director/Production Manager) is a native of Houston, TX. He currently works as the Interim Performing Arts Coordinator for South Dallas Cultural Center where he also teaches “Acting for Teens” and “Creative Dramatics for Youth” as part of the Summer Arts Program. Previously, Daniel served for 3 years as stage and contest manager for the University Interscholastic League (UIL) Theatre Contest giving service to K-12 theatre troupes throughout Texas. He has a B.A. in Theatre from Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU) where he was the President of the Charles Gilpin Players; active as stage manager and assistant producer on several productions including Black Nativity: Symbols of Our Souls, Jelly’s Last Jam, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream; and the director for Black Love Song #1, Freshman Orientation Show and New Faces (freshmen recital) production. Daniel is excited to bring his background in stage management to the service of Progress Theatre!
